We provide comprehensive assessment, diagnostic opinion, reviews and consultation on treatment and management for consumers of publicly funded mental health services in Victoria who have a developmental disability.
Anyone can call for telephone advice about developmental disability, mental health and accessing services. Please call 03 9231 1988.
Consumers of mental health services who have intellectual disability and/or autism should be referred by the treating mental health service.
In some circumstances we can provide assessment, consultation and review for NDIS participants who have intellectual disability or autism, and who experience mental health concerns.
Inquiries about NDIS participants require agreement from the person’s case coordinator and GP. In the event that they have a psychiatrist, the psychiatrist must agree to a VDDS referral.
Please note, we are unable to provide crisis support, case management or inpatient care, NDIS eligibility assessments or cognitive testing.
To refer, or to enquire about training, please call the Victorian Dual Disability Service (VDDS) on (03) 9231 1988 or email vdds@svha.org.au to discuss your enquiry. Alternatively, please complete an enquiry form and one of our clinicians will call you.
The Victorian Dual Disability Service recognises the Traditional Owners of the land on which our office is located; the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nations. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and welcome all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to our health service.
